Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is pleased to welcome Alexandra Filippakis, DO, to the neurology team at Wentworth Health Partners Coastal Neurology Services. Dr. Filippakis will see patients at Coastal Neurology Services.
Dr. Filippakis is a board-certified neurologist with clinical and research experience encompassing all aspects of neurology. Her background includes a Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. She also served as Chief Resident in Neurology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Filippakis earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine.
A member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers, and the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Filippakis specializes in and is passionate about helping patients with multiple sclerosis navigate their comprehensive care.
Dr. Filippakis is a proud first-generation Greek-American who was raised in Haverhill, Mass. Her interests outside of medicine include birdwatching, playing tennis, and spending time with her family.
To enhance access to expert sub-specialty care for all neurology patients in the Seacoast community, Dr. Filippakis will see patients at Coastal Neurology Services in Dover (10 Members Way) and the Wentworth-Douglass Portsmouth Outpatient Center (121 Corporate Drive, Building C). Wentworth-Douglass’s Portsmouth Outpatient Center also includes a cancer center, primary care, walk-in care, and numerous specialty clinics, such as cardiology, general surgery, plastic surgery, sports medicine, and more.
