Stroke Care When You Need It

Fast, expert care is critical when you are experiencing a stroke. You can trust the team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, collaborating with Mass General Brigham’s team, to offer the best quality stroke care when you need it most.

Wentworth-Douglass was the first hospital in New Hampshire to earn Primary Stroke Center Advanced Certification by The Joint Commission, the nation's leading healthcare accrediting agency.

As a Primary Stroke Center, Wentworth-Douglass provides the best practices in acute stroke care to achieve better outcomes for our patients. We use state-of-the-art diagnostic criteria to safely select whether or not you should undergo thrombolytic therapy that can open up closed arteries to the brain to reverse the injury and protect the brain.

MGB’s Experts, 24 Hours per Day

Through our affiliation with Mass General Brigham, we have full access to their expert clinicians through telemedicine videoconferencing. Telemedicine allows MGB stroke specialists to interact with patients and providers in real-time to diagnose and make treatment recommendations.

Stroke Rehabilitation

We are also here to support you through your recovery and help you regain your function. Our Neurological Rehabilitation Day Program for stroke patients and others with brain impairments can help improve cognition, communication, physical and social deficits through comprehensive therapies.
