Supportive and Wellness programs at the Seacoast Cancer Center range from social work services, integrative therapies (such as Reiki, massage, and acupuncture), support groups and special services. A new program being added this year is an innovative rehabilitation program centered on physical, occupational and speech therapy services.
The “STAR” (Survivorship Training And Rehabilitation) Program, being launched this summer at Wentworth- Douglass, is a nationally recognized cancer survivorship certification that is focused on improving the lives of patients and survivors who suffer from the side effects caused by treatments. STAR Program patients can receive individualized, comprehensive cancer rehabilitation treatment before, during and after their cancer treatment - to improve the symptoms affecting daily functioning and quality of life.
Wentworth-Douglass STAR Program certified Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists are specially-trained to address these challenges, and to help advance the recovery process.
