Wentworth-Douglass welcomes Certified Nurse Midwife, Emily Orlowicz

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is pleased to welcome Certified Nurse Midwife Emily Orlowicz to the medical staff. Orlowicz will care for women of all ages by providing routine gynecologic care and prenatal care for expectant women at the Wentworth-Douglass Center for Women’s Health & Wellness in Portsmouth, N.H. and Wentworth Health Partners OBGYN & Infertility in Dover, N.H.

Certified Nurse Midwives have master’s degrees in nursing and specialized midwifery training and licensing. They can prescribe medications, order tests, help women through labor, deliver babies, and assist with C-sections when necessary. Certified nurse midwives work closely with physicians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists to help women and families experience the pregnancy and birth they envision.

Emily Orlowicz received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of New Hampshire and her Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. Most recently she has worked as a Clinical Nurse for the United States Air Force and as a Pre-Anesthesia Testing Nurse at Exeter Hospital.
